Born in Newark New Jersey, John Richter began painting traditional realistic paintings, land and cityscapes over 30 years ago. His work is inspired by many travels throughout the Mediterranean, France and Italy, and by his numerous visits to some of the most famous art galleries in the world. His work has been exhibited in numerous juried shows in New York and New Jersey.
Basically a self-educated painter, John studied briefly with Miriam Burrill, AAPL, at The Art Centre of New Jersey, (where he served as a past President,) and with Al Hansen at Rutgers University in Newark where he graduated in 1974. Some of Mr. Richter’s works are held in private collections in New Jersey and France.
